My work motivations are always centred around delivering excellence in every aspect of the role I’m working in. I’m always looking to improve upon what’s gone on before in both my approach to the task in hand or that of the team I’m working within, be it FinTech or Tier 1 bank.Leading a team is where I really thrive, tackling those big tricky problems together is what keeps me motivated and solving those problems in a manner that helps build confidence in me and my team to the stakeholders is where I find satisfaction.Fostering a great team culture is something I’m very passionate about as it’s the single most important ingredient for success in all aspects of delivery. Having trust in those you work with, empowering them to be able to make decisions and in turn being trusted by your team to support them is what binds you together, and when that’s stress tested through those inevitable challenges large scale IT programmes bring, how you approach that and the result you deliver, is what defines a high performing team.I’ve worked in a number of IT delivery roles across a varied business portfolio, delivering on-prem. solutions, Cloud based services (AWS & GCP) and 3rd party integrations (VISA, Form3, Akamai) but whether its Payments with all its regulatory considerations, security which needs to be imbedded throughout the digital journey or Fraud with its very real human impact, I like to think I can always influence the outcome in a positive way.
