I am the BBC West newsroom digital lead working alongside colleagues in TV and radio output. I\'ve had a massive transformative impact on the teams I have managed from reskilling text team members to be able to edit for video, coaching TV journalists to be able to write for digital platforms and helping team members to create compelling social content for Facebook and Instagram.Under my editorial lead our social output has gone from one of the worst in the country to one of the best - with the record for the highest number of referrals to a single story in BBC history. Our website output consistently delivers quality output with a specialism from breaking news.I\'m an experienced writer and sub in both article and shortform environments, I can edit in Final Cut Pro and have a wealth of experience of working on social platforms and using them to bring audiences back to websites.I have completed - and gained a distinction - in a Master\'s degree in Business and Strategic Leadership at Cranfield University during my time as editor.

I am Digital Editor at BBC West, leading the transformation of a traditional newsroom into a truly digital-first operation. Working closely with colleagues in TV and radio, I mentor and guide teams as they evolve from linear output to innovative, audience-focused digital journalism.With three decades of experience in digital storytelling and communications, I bring a proven track record of breaking major stories, delivering impactful exclusives, and creating engaging social content across multiple platforms. I was part of the team that launched the first BBC Local websites, helped pioneer live video streaming, and have consistently championed creative, innovative approaches to journalism.A core part of my role is developing people. I take pride in coaching, mentoring, and training journalists, editors, and producers, while spotting and nurturing new talent. Many of the colleagues I have supported have gone on to thrive in senior editorial and leadership positions.I recently completed an MSc in Business and Strategic Leadership with distinction, further enhancing my ability to lead change. This has given me a strong foundation in strategy, leadership, and change management, enabling me to help teams and organisations adapt, innovate, and succeed in an evolving media landscape.
