About Wesley Lima

I teach AP English Literature and sophomore English at my alma mater on the SouthCoast of Massachusetts. I studied English Literature at UNC - Chapel Hill (B.A.\'14) and Education & Social Change at the University of Miami (M.S. Ed.\'16) and am currently in pursuit of a Doctorate in English Pedagogy from Murray State University. I taught for three years in Miami-Dade County as a Teach for America corps member before moving back home. I coach football and our spring Unified Track program and serve as a class advisor. Additionally, I serve as an AP Reader for the College Board and have worked to grow the AP Literature program at Dartmouth High School since I started teaching the course in 2019. My research interests revolve around the literature of the whaling industry, as well as the benefits of intellectual risk in the classroom, which I\'ll be presenting on as part of a round table at The Conference on College Composition and Communication in Baltimore in the Spring of 2025. I serve as a member of the Alumni Advisory Board for Teach For America - Massachusetts.
