About Wesley Johnson
With over a decade of data center design and construction experience, I am passionate about finding creative design solutions that achieve greater power density and allow for faster field deployment to turbo charge AI data center development. I have operated as the lead electrical engineer on 8 greenfield, hyperscale data center projects and completed 33+ data center designs in my career to date. I am an expert Revit user and am proficient in Custom GPTs, CYMCAP, Dynamo, ETAP, AutoCAD, AGI32, SKM, AmpCalc, ACC, Procore, and PMWeb.I routinely large lead teams of electrical engineers on hyperscale data center designs as well as oversee construction administration from IFC docs through to final 100% record documents. My experience includes full electrical engineering analysis, design, and review, development of construction documents from scratch, inspecting and managing construction on side, as well as specification writing and code analysis. My project experience includes development of project scope and associated resource loaders, managing budgets, developing technical clarifications and guidance, interfacing with client counterparts, and evaluation of client TIA\'s and GC change order to avoid runaway costs throughout construction. I enjoy mentoring junior engineers and developing new workflow processes to make our team more successful and effective in our engineering execution. I currently manage a team of 9 engineers in the Dallas office and work alongside my counterpart in the Fort Worth office, as well as nationally, as a senior electrical engineer and leader of the mission critical group. I am one of the founding members (one of only two electricals) of the Mission Critical group at Burns & McDonnell and have been instrumental in growing the team to its current size and success (60+ electrical engineers nationally).
