ABOUT WESLEY ROTHMAN
Author of SUBWOOFER (New Issues Poetry & Prose, 2017), I am a poet, educator, publishing professional, and scholar committed to innovation in my fields as well as strengthening cultural and historical awareness. My educational and scholarly specializations include contemporary poetry, African American poetry, cultural literatures, intercultural awareness and communication, history as a social tool, dismantling white privilege, inclusive teaching practices, technology in the classroom, critical and creative composition practices, as well as multimodal and alternative text composition. Poems have recently appeared or are forthcoming in Copper Nickel, Crab Orchard Review, Crazyhorse, Gulf Coast, Harvard Review, Mississippi Review, Narrative, New England Review, Poet Lore, Prairie Schooner, The Rumpus, Southern Humanities Review, Southern Indiana Review, the Poets on Growth anthology, and The Golden Shovel Anthology, among other venues. I have worked in editorial and content writing positions with Copper Canyon Press, Ploughshares Magazine, Narrative Magazine, Tupelo Quarterly, and Salamander Magazine. My criticism has appeared in Publishers Weekly, American Microreviews and Interviews, Boston Review, Callaloo, and Rain Taxi Review of Books.
