As a Senior Executive Service (SES) federal employee, I have the privilege of being the Principal Director of External Affairs for Indian Affairs at the U.S. Department of the Interior. I report directly to the Assistant Secretary of Indian Affairs through the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary. Positioned within the organizational structure between the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary and the Offices of Public Affairs and Congressional and Legislative Affairs, I serve as the senior executive responsible for managing and coordinating all external engagement functions. This includes overseeing public, congressional, and legislative affairs. My role entails facilitating effective and strategic communication among key stakeholders, including the public, the press, Congress, and the Department. I ensure that all communications accurately reflect the priorities, programs, and perspectives of the Administration, Secretary, and Assistant Secretary.
