Since 1985, when I had developed the first waste separation concept (two bins) in Bavaria,my colleagues and I had tried to optimize reuse, reduce and recycle solutions in hundredsof projects. But without the landfill ban in 2005 and all the thermal treatment plants,which were the only other option for appropriate disposal, Germany´s SWMnever would have attained mitigation of GHG to such a great extent.This is part of our WtERT Crowd Sourcing Campaign we launch in 2020. Now rebranded to WasteCulture the Crowd Sourcing Campaign will stimulate a big change in solid waste management´s communication. Besides 3R-strategies also energy recovery, tax solutions and landfill bans should be involved.
