About Wendy Strobel Gower

At Cornell University\'s ILR School, leadership and collaboration to advance disability-inclusive workplaces form the foundation of my professional work. Higher education has afforded me opportunities to develop and implement innovative approaches to my work. Working at Cornell means I can collaborate with smart, dedicated, and determined professionals. I appreciate the opportunity to teach others through training and professional writing. Serving as a Principal Investigator and Project Director for Federal Grants not only allowed me to grow my leadership skills over time but also taught me a great deal about managing teams, budgets, and delivering the work we promised. For the past few years, I have had the privilege of serving as the Executive Director of the Yang-Tan Institute on Employment and Disability, a dynamic outreach program located within the School of Industrial Relations at Cornell University. YTI has a multimillion-dollar operating budget and over 60 employees. In this role, I collaborate with our finance manager to strike a balance between opportunity, innovation, and fiscal responsibility. As a leader, I strive to create an environment where belonging is not just a goal, but a tangible reality for our staff and faculty and workplaces across the country.
