Growing up in a small town in southern Indiana, I did not know a thing about accounting or finance. That all changed one summer when, as a teenager, I enrolled in Junior Achievement. A kind-hearted CPA introduced me to accounting and assigned me as CFO of a mock company. With his guidance and unwavering support, I received a scholarship and graduated from a top-10 accounting school: The Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. Looking back at the WONDERFUL CAREER I’ve had so far, I’m humbled and blessed. It was not without hard work, dedication, and perseverance, plus support from family and mentors. All this has molded my career as a CPA in Florida, entrepreneur, startup CFO with a successful acquisition by a publicly traded company, and corporate finance executive including a spinout with a public company at the NASDAQ opening bell. I’ve always had an ENTREPRENEURIAL SPIRIT, so after completing my career in corporate America I decided my “why” was to help business owners navigate the challenges of owning and growing a business.
