ABOUT WENDY ALSTON

I\'m not your average HR Professional.Of course, I have strong \"people skills\"​, get excited about organizational development, and cringe (rather than laugh) when I hear people tell stories about \"interesting\"​ things that were said/done while they were at work. But, I\'m also a coach, community builder, and trusted resource to both employees and management. And, I\'ve got a great sense of humor (or so I\'m told).My background includes working in a number of different industries, but always in Human Resources. Each industry is unique and has its quirks, but I\'m adaptable and able to be productive and happy almost anywhere. I\'m an optimist; this helps me see people and situations in their best light and often helps me find creative solutions to difficult problems. I am passionate about developing systems and procedures that streamline processes and improve efficiency. For example, in past positions, I\'ve revamped the onboarding process to be more people-oriented and less paper-oriented. When there is an efficient, sensible process in place, people are happier and more engaged. In a nutshell, I know HR is more than just policies, rules, and reports. Its about people and doing the right thing. HR is my passion. I\'m not just the HR professional who\'s there to collect a paycheck.
