About Wendy Young
With 30+ years drug discovery and leadership experience, I am passionate about guiding the next generation of scientific leaders and biotech companies to make large strides in treating unmet medical needs. Currently I am engaging with innovative healthcare organizations as scientific and drug discovery advisor, independent board member, and advisor to venture capital firms. As former SVP at Genentech, I built and led the small molecule drug discovery organization. Over 15 years, I oversaw the discovery of >25 clinical candidates and their progression into development and served as an executive member of the R&D leadership and as part of the global Roche team. I was also selected to be a board member of the Genentech Patient Foundation. As a highly active member of the American Chemical Society (ACS)(>25 years) and nationally elected Division Chair, I have championed and shaped conference policies, advocated for increased scientific opportunities for women, authored published perspectives and been invited to lecture on theses topics.
