ABOUT WENDY WEIGER
I’m a physician/scientist who left Harvard’s halls of academe for the wilds of northern Maine. My early career was in medical research, but I came to understand our growing environmental crisis as the biggest threat to public health that humanity has ever faced. I moved to the Maine Woods, where I qualified as a wilderness guide and became deeply involved in environmental advocacy to protect my chosen home. I recently released my first book,\"Living Every Season: A Mindful Year in the Maine Woods,\" and I\'m seeking a publisher for my second book,\"Heaven Beneath Our Feet.\" My writing shows how connection with nature offers healing on multiple levels, and makes the case for conservation as a sacred imperative. In 2017, I founded Achor Earth Ways. This grassroots nonprofit offers programs and publications that guide people into deeper connection with the natural world: both to enhance their own well-being and to inspire them to work toward healing the Earth.
