Manage the production team for the children’s book list. Handle the production of approximately 25 titles per season, including our novelty formats and award-winning picture books. Work with several factories around the world, mainly focused in China. Travel to vendors as needed to build relationships and visit factories.Production duties include ideating new formats, quoting with vendors, checking specifications, negotiating prices, issuing purchase orders, checking and managing InDesign files, proofing for color, and making sure the final product meets expectations.Work with team leaders of other departments including editorial, design and managing editorial to improve workflow across departments. Lead the department in knowledge and management of safety testing products. Attend seminars and meetings to keep up to date on current safety requirements in key markets around the world. Work with operations to provide all necessary compliance documentation to customers.
