Wendy Thomas is an accomplished Risk Management Subject Matter Expert with 6 years of Cybersecurity experience. She has been in Information Technology for 15 years in the Oil and Gas Industry holding various positions within IT at Chevron. Wendy is a New Orleans, Louisiana native and began her career in Covington, Louisiana after acquiring a Bachelor\'s in Computer Information Systems. She is currently residing in Houston, Texas. Wendy has mentored and advised security development operations teams as well as new, incoming, and experienced cyber risk professionals. She\'s an influential college recruiter at Florida International University for IT. In tandem, she is an active mentor of students and scholarship recipients attending her alma mater, Xavier University of Louisiana. Wendy has partnered with the American Petroleum Institute\'s Cybersecurity Planning Committee as a committed, active planning member for several years. Wendy specializes in application security and the protection of critical, high-risk assets through applying appropriate, risk-based standards and controls. In most recent endeavors, Wendy is deepening her cyber competency through data analytics to provide critical insights while advising Cyber DevOps teams.
