About Wendy Johnson

I identify myself as a mentor/collaborator in many parts of my HR role and work with companies who share this value. I consider HR to be most effective when it partners with business leaders to support the purpose of the business. I also feel that collaboration allows me to serve the employees while keeping the needs of the business in the forefront of my duties. I think my training uniquely qualifies me to build and maintain effective, consultative working relationships in order to successfully provide guidance regarding employee relations, including performance management and conflict resolution, maximizing our high performance and industry-leading culture. As a bit of a technology geek, I enjoy working to upgrade HR systems and platforms including such endeavors as building HR Intranets and other communication portals.

   As the Director of Human Resources and Culture and a member of Catawba\'s leadership team I administer all HR duties. In addition, I have a passion to guide Catawba\'s culture to be a place where \"Employees are more than coworkers.\" I have developed a number of employee culture initiatives. Including implementing a new HR Intranet, integrating HR functions for all sites, and increasing employee communication. Key projects include modernizing many HR functions which were manual, or paper based. Under my purview, Catawba rolled out a 360-degree feedback for executives. Catawba\'s HR philosophy is guided by the Platinum rule which is used to create an environment of mutual respect and collaboration.
