About Wendy Homerding

I am looking to break into the tech field with a full stack developer position. I have worked in many sectors of the economy throughout my career. After college I worked in private sector mortgages as an account manager and mortgage underwriter. I truly enjoyed the underwriting position as it made use of my analytical abilities and put my love of math to work. I continued my education with a Master in Mathematics Education and taught seventh and eighth grade math for two years. This led me to one of my favorite things, yoga, which I turned into a career as a small business owner and then later as a part time yoga substitute while my children were small. Now that my children are a bit older I am ready to enter the workforce again. I am looking for positions in web development but would entertain mortgage underwriting positions as well, especially if they were remote or hybrid. Since 2008, I have personally managed all aspects of my rental home portfolio, including but not limited to all legal filings, evictions, collections, digital marketing, assessing rent worthiness, drawing up of lease documents and renewing documents, maintaining professional relationships with tenants, working with subcontractors on maintaining the properties themselves, and remaining in compliance with all local, state and national real estate laws. When I started considering re-entering the traditional work force, I took into account my personality and my personal strengths and weaknesses. After researching careers that were currently in high demand, I kept returning to full stack development. I love to see the total product and how all of the pieces of something work together. I love variety and learning new things. I am creative in an untraditional sense (please don\'t ask me to draw or paint anything) but I love to make things that are useful and help people. I love how technology can do both of those things. With development, I am never bored, always learning and growing, and I get to create beautiful, functional designs and/or intricate backends that work seamlessly to add value to peoples lives. I am a hard worker and believe that I would be an incredible asset for the right company.
