Responsible for the whole West side of the state of all HVD, Transmission and Customer Dedicated subs -Responsible for overseeing the work of 5 Substation Layout Designers, a Design Engineer and teaching/developing summer interns, Co-op students and rotating engineers that come through the department- Create a Preliminary one line diagram and description of work that is to be completed. This is sent to all interested parties for comment and agreement- Check all designs created under my direction for clearance issues and correct Bill of Material- Ensure that all material will be available at start of construction - Address design and material concerns before and during construction - Create direct cost estimates, pre-design and post-design - Active in updating Internal Standards to meet or exceed Industry Standards - Responsible for assigning jobs to designers and projecting workload - Responsible for the quality of work going out to the construction group
