As Orrick’s Chief Innovation Officer, I lead our firm\'s efforts to transform the delivery of legal solutions by leveraging people, process and technology to develop novel services, streamline processes, and consult with clients on tailored solutions. I’m honored to lead a talented team of lawyers, technologists, project managers and business professionals to develop creative, client-focused solutions such as transforming our analytics platform by leveraging AI and statisticians, launching one of the most cutting-edge case management products in the industry, and accelerating our talent model’s transformation to attract the highest quality talent to nontraditional law firm roles.My background as a mass torts litigator and later focus on eDiscovery and operationalizing innovation have given me a deep understanding of legal issues and technology, including more efficient methods to leverage data and manage the litigation process. And, my passion for inspiring our teams to try new approaches (e.g. hackathons) and innovating on behalf of clients have helped us identify new ideas for improving project management, co-creating with clients ways to streamline and alleviate pain points in our clients’ legal departments. I\'m incredibly proud of our team\'s accomplishments in innovation, such as establishing best-in-class solutions with CaseStream and Orrick Analytics, our firm being ranked as top 20 law firm for innovation for 20 years in a row by the Financial Times and Am Law honoring Orrick with its first-ever Legal Services Innovation Award in 2018. I’m humbled FT also named me Most Innovative Lawyer in 2018 and one of the Top 20 Innovators over the past 20 years. I also continue to practice and am recognized by Chambers as a leading individual, nationally, in the area of eDiscovery. Our team of dedicated eDiscovery attorneys, each seasoned litigators, provides our clients with practical guidance based in courtroom experience, mastery of the law and deep understanding of technology, process and eDiscovery costs.
