ABOUT WENDI STRICKLAND

When I tell you \"I\'ve done it all\" I mean it. Started as an accounting clerk at Protein Foods when I was 19 years old, Went to work for Dan\'s Prize (Hormel subsidiary) also doing accounting, received a promotion and eventually became Office Manager. Managed payroll for 500 employees with a plant located in Long Prairie MN. This is where I began my Human Resources journey. after about 10 years I moved to Turbo Logistics back to my accounting roots and then became a Rates and Contract Analyst. Next opportunity arose to join Gold Greek Foods. Again started in accounting but quickly moved into the HR Director job. This is where I Grew in HR. It was during the ObamaCare challenge where I had to meet face to face with our 1100 or so employees. Offering the best solutions available as well as keeping it affordable for the company and remain compliant when others surrounding our company were taking short cuts. Our Workers Comp cost for staggering and on the rise, I had the opportunity to hire a GA Workers Comp claim adjuster, a company nurse and a safety manager which totally changed the entire safety environment for the company. Also with the approval of the owner who believed in my vision, we bought an older school bus with the dreams of getting employees to work for very minimal cost. That grew to about 6 buses running day and night shift and is still going strong today. Then I joined ShoreLine Logistics creating a company handbook and implementing practices and procedures. Also saved that ocmpany many workers comp dollars. Then assisted in landing a very large client which would change the dynamics of the company for years to come. With all of my experience over the years, HR and Recruiting has been my favorite. I love working with people, I love pouring into others lives. Now joining Spherion I\'m able to help in HR areas, compliance, hiring and recruiting. Whether it\'s a one time hiring need or ongoing staffing, we can handle it all.
