I am currently employed as Lead UX Designer at Aegon UK. Here I have shaped my role to become more strategy led, leading multidisciplinary designers and researchers within our UX Team across a variety of channels and platforms utilising integrated design systems. During my time as lead, I’ve experienced all areas of the business (mainly within the retail and workplace propositions), and met with senior leaders regularly to help shape the direction of our platforms and products. I frequently manage multiple projects at once but in every project I manage, I ensure accessibility and inclusion are at the forefront of every design aspect, not just with UX colleagues but wider stakeholders too.Most recently, from mid 2024, I was placed in charge of the design output of the Workplace area of the business, Aegon’s most profitable and diverse customer base. Here I lead not only the UX Designers, but members of all areas of the UX Team that work in this space, acting as a strategist and business partner with the Workplace Senior Leadership Team. A proud achievement of mine is that I have helped shape and develop the UX team from 6 members to now 30, interviewing 75% of the current team, while making sure team culture and collaboration is still present and thriving. Since my time as lead I have created various design sessions such as show and tell, mentorship sessions between seniors and juniors, and UX team days that focus on learning and development (mainly shaping our craft in our favourite design tool, Figma and now AI). I’m always looking to improve our efficiencies and optimise work flows which is something that is built into my daily mindset. These are topics I promote in regular design operation calls, where I collaborate with other design managers.

Throughout my career, I have had the pleasure to work with clients/users in many industries including fin-tech, law, engineering, non-profits and the drinks industry to name a few.
