About David Berkley

I’ve spent my career in heavy civil construction and currently serve as Vice President of P.T. Ferro Construction, delivering public agency and private development work across the southwest suburbs of Chicago. I started as a laborer and worked through estimating and project management into executive leadership. That experience still shapes how I approach the work today. My role spans strategic planning, operational oversight, and real-time problem solving across our operations. Since 2017, I’ve been part of the senior leadership group as the company has taken on more complex work, expanded its capabilities, and strengthened how it operates. The scale has changed. The standards have not. We focus on building efficiently, building correctly, protecting our people, and holding the line on quality and accountability. My background includes estimating and managing multi-faceted projects including roadway reconstruction, utility improvements, asphalt paving, earthwork, and small structures. That foundation allows me to stay connected to the field while helping guide the direction of the company. A major focus of my work is improving how we operate. That means refining processes, strengthening communication, and building a staff that performs under pressure. Developing people is a high priority. Long-term performance of our company depends on depth, accountability, and preparing the next group to take on responsibility when their time comes. P.T. Ferro exists today because of the generations before us who built it the right way. Preserving that foundation while positioning the company for what comes next is the balance I work to maintain every day.
