About Wayne A. Willbur

While raised primarily in Southern California, I graduated from Seoul International High School in Seoul, South Korea, learning just enough Korean to scare waitresses in Korean BBQ restaurants (which continues to this day). After graduating high school, I returned to Southern California and attended the University of California at Riverside graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Economics with a minor in International Relations. During one college summer, I managed to get a scholarship to study business in Tokyo, Japan where I was flogged and beaten by a petite, otherwise unassuming Japanese language teacher into learning just enough Japanese to order sushi and to get directions to the loo.After graduation from UCR, I was looking forward to attending Boston University for my MBA when I was notified that I had been accepted at the London School of Economics and Political Science for their Post-Graduate Business Studies program. With no disrespect to Boston, I chose London and managed to actually graduate with a post-graduate diploma in Business Studies despite being forced to memorize British commercial law precedents and undergoing the torture of properly balancing tedious rows of debits and credits (after nights recovering from over-imbibing Guinness stout at parties in Mick Jagger’s old dorm room in Passfield Hall).After returning to Los Angeles, I worked a few years in the entertainment industry in various capacities, after which I worked in several large law firms in IT, computerizing information involved in complex civil litigation cases. After finally deciding against furthering a career in IT or attending law school, I pursued one of my major interests: real estate. I continue to work in real estate as both an agent and investor while writing in a number of formats from screenplays to sitcoms to a recently finished novel. After many years of participating in the rebirth of Downtown Los Angeles, I recently moved from Downtown LA to Brentwood with my Persian wife, Seppy, and two Persian cats.
