About Wayne Wright

Wayne Wright is the Head of Communications, Media & Technology (CMT) Corporate Banking Coverage at TD Securities. Wayne was formerly a Managing Director of the Technology Media and Telecom (TMT) team at Mizuho, a major global financial institution with headquarters in Japan. As a client manager, Wayne was instrumental in expanding the Mizuho franchise in the US by building successful client partnerships for Mizuho, particularly with Telecom and Media companies. A native of Jamaica, Wayne moved to the United States at 15 years old. He was introduced to banking after winning an internship at Salomon Brothers, as a high school senior. He interned at Salomon during college and started his career in banking at Salomon after receiving his degree. He later joined the Industrial Bank of Japan, a predecessor institution of Mizuho. During his over 30 years of banking he has covered several industries including Power & Utilities, Industrials, Home Building, Consumer, and over the last 13 years, TMT. Wayne did an assignment in People\'s Republic of China, where he assisted US corporations with establishing a presence in the country. Wayne is the Chairman of the Board of Wall Street Bound, a charity that helps to prepare disadvantaged college students to become competitive candidates for positions on Wall Street. He also pursues a wide range of other community activities including mentoring college bound and college students. While at Mizuho he led an effort to establish an annual summer internship for underserved New York City high school students. He Co-Founded and Co-Chaired Mizuho\'s African Descent Employees Network (MADE) an ERG for Black employees at Mizuho. Wayne is father to three amazing boys. He is an avid golfer and enjoys all sorts of outdoor activities. Wayne graduated Summa Cum Laude from Long Island University, C.W. Post Campus, where he received a BS in Finance.
