ABOUT WAYNE MCGEE
Hi, I’m Wayne — apparently, I’m a Project Manager. Colleagues say I’m great at it. So, I figured it was time to get my AgilePM qualification and fully justify the title.I’ve spent 4+ years delivering large-scale transformation, workforce, and operational improvement projects in the NHS, and anyone working in project management or the NHS will tell you it’s no easy feat — but it’s hugely rewarding, making a fundamental difference to an organisation, it\'s staff and services users, and ultimately society. Most days, I’m juggling spreadsheets, strategising, mapping, and attending many, many meetings. I get to meet many colleagues and gain a deeper understanding of the organisation more than most! What that usually means is I become the “go-to” person.People say I work efficiently and effortlessly with a capacity to hold a lot, but friends, here’s a secret: no one is that good — it’s all about balance. My little neurodivergent brain is constantly firing off! It\'s my superpower. Of course, it has limits! I achieve by looking after my wellbeing, breaking up the day with spontaneity and excitement. Proud boast incoming! Recently, I won an Innovation & Research Award for a project I managed. And last year, I won an Exeter Community Champion Award for producing Out There Queer Fest, the Southwest’s first LGBTQ+ arts and culture fringe festival — which was also nominated for a National Diversity Award. As a result, I’m now the Founder of Out There Together CIC, a vital LGBTQ+ community outreach platform for queer culture in Exeter. I’ve worked in the arts for 20+ years — performing at Hampton Court Palace, the International Shakespeare Festival, and co-founding a dance theatre company that toured in Poland. Evidently, I have an entrepreneurial spirit — I was the founder of a small pop-up fashion business, AtashVana. I love creating something from nothing and solving problems.Outside of work, I’m usually at a music event, theatre, fundraising, travelling, or networking! So lets connect, send me a message! I\'m always up for a chat and sharing ideas.Quotes - “The best gift you can give is your time.” “If your dreams don\'t scare you, they\'re not big enough.”
