Reflect on the notion of career success through this lens: If evidence suggests that human talent is distributed normally across societies, why are wealth, power, and fame so disproportionately concentrated among a select few? According to research recognized by the Ig Nobel Prize, a significant factor is sheer luck. Imagine, for instance, the different trajectories possible if those now-billionaires had not received startup funding from their families or had been born in less affluent countries. This realization may paint life as unpredictable and somewhat absurd, yet it doesn\'t deem all efforts futile. On the contrary, it challenges us to question whether pursuing wealth, power, or fame—the equivalent of playing a rigged game—is genuinely fulfilling. This perspective leads me to believe that life\'s meaning and success lie beyond traditional metrics, and to embrace a more multidimensional and complex evaluation. I am particularly drawn to a blend of deontology, utilitarianism and virtue ethics, where the ultimate success in life is measured by the construction of lasting friendships, positive impact on other creatures, and the cultivation of virtuous character.My passion for technology stems from its dynamic nature—it\'s a field where continuous learning, global collaboration, impactful product development, and the significant earning to give potential converge. I am deeply interested in global development and nonprofit work, and would love to connect with anyone working in those industries or contribute my free time. As an active member of the Effective Altruism movement, I contribute to discussions on global development within the EA NYC community.
