About Sulaiman Wasty
Over 40 years of experience in international development-with an initial career in the Planning Commission of Pakistan to assignments with the World Bank and the United Nations. Extensive involvement in the evaluation of country assistance strategies/economic reform policies (particularly: for public sector management, governance, and institutional development) in numerous countries and various regions. Subsequently, served as a managing director as well as the acting CEO of G. William Miller Financial Integrity Services. Currently, president of a Washington, DC-based and SBA-certified consulting firm: Sharakpur, Adjunct Scholar at Middle East Institute. Founding member of the Middle East and North Africa Consultants. In 2011-12, appointed as Mission Leader of a United Nations several-member-multidisciplinary group to evaluate the outcome of the United Nation\'s agencies\' and that of the other partners\' reconstruction efforts in Iraq and its Kurdistan region. Later (2015-17), served as Quality Assurance Advisor to the United Nations Development Programme; and a Senior Consultant to the World Bank on Africa\'s Great Lakes Region Initiative, Social Protection, and the worldwide State- and Peacebuilding Fund/Program.Advisor to Gulf State Analytics, and a Contributor to Fair Observer magazine. Visiting and guest professor at Princeton (School of Public and International Affairs), Johns Hopkins (The Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies), George Washington, and Brigham Young Universities.Specialties: Providing advice on adherence/compliance with performance accountability standards for government entities and private corporations holding public policy mandates. Conducting assessments of the results and impact of policy interventions for socioeconomic and political reforms-especially in fragile and mid/post-conflict areas, countries, and regions.
