As Executive Director of The Institute for Educational Studies (TIES) I lead a post-secondary academic organization. Our program offers Master of Education degrees in integrative learning to Montessori professionals and holistic educators. In its 28th year, the TIES graduate community includes 350 students from 42 countries across six continents. TIES is an original pioneer in distance education with an emphasis on creating dynamic learning communities steeped in both collective and independent studies. Our roots date back to the early 90s, when we were integral members in the formation of the holistic education movement. As Executive Director, my focus centers on strategic planning, program oversight, and an immersive, hands-on approach to our thriving learning community. My myriad roles include strategic partnerships, program development, recruitment initiatives, outreach, marketing, public relations, and faculty and student success, growth, and happiness. for creating new educational opportunities for Montessorians and Holistic Educators. In the past year we have created and hosted a series on online international educational symposiums. I am also the lead recruiter consulting with adult educators exploring career opportunities.TIES was established in 1987 order to advance integrative teaching and learning in workshops, seminars, and courses for teachers/leaders in business and education. The Institute:• Emphasizes the teacher’s role in advocating for a secure and sustainable world.• Recognizes that diversity, interdependence, ecological awareness and a realization of the mind-body-spirit connection are integral to the Montessori teaching-learning context• Fosters the development of compassionate and collaborative learning communities• Promotes integration informed by experiential learning
