40+ years of Information Security experience in the insurance, financial, health, telecommunications, government, military and intelligence communities, including numerous publications and international security conference presentations. In 1994 I joined the Canadian team assisting the South African Independent Electoral Commission, and was in charge of IT security and disaster recovery work for their historic first post-Apartheid all-party election.I specialize in cloud architecture oversight, Threat & Risk Assessment, Public Key Infrastructure, IT management, maturity assessments, consulting and assurance work. I design Disaster Recovery and Business Resumption plans and have orchestrated recovery services from major disaster situations.EXPERIENCE HIGHLIGHTS:• Managed the Cyber Advisory, Risk Management and Digital Forensics & Incident Response (DFIR) areas of a Managed Security Services company with an international client base.• Designed and managed the creation of complex offshore PKI Certificate Authority infrastructure & the secure architecture required to meet ZertES and WebTrust for CA compliance to ETSI and ISO standards at QuoVadis in Hamilton, Bermuda.• Directed and managed IT departments with multi-million dollar budgets at Empire Financial Group, and at Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Security Service (now CSIS).• Senior Consultant for federal government contracts in Ottawa. Provided IT engineering support services to the Project Management Office, Department of National Defense, Ottawa, to develop FPD and Implementation Phase System Specifications, Statement Of Work & SDCF work tasks and implementation proposal evaluation items for $140M+ project. Also produced reports evaluating the Contractors’ FPD Phase progress and compliance of deliverables for proposed security, networking & DBMS engineering.• Threat and Risk Assessments in PKI, intelligence, insurance, government & healthcare industries.
