ABOUT WALTER T. TILLMAN
Dr. Walter T. Tillman, Jr. is a second-generation educator, innovative university administrator, PK-16 education strategist, engaging speaker, empathetic leader, and empowerment agent. His professional experience has included: executive management, academic administration, student affairs, public health, emergency preparedness, stakeholder engagement, government relations, fundraising, minority business development and economic development. His research focus is on: historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs), community colleges, college readiness, globalization, university governance, college access, and student success. Credentialed by Toastmasters International as an Advanced Toastmaster Bronze, he delivers presentations to: educational, political, business and church-related audiences on issues including leadership, education, minority business development, strategic planning, black males, and politics. Committed to scholarship: Dr. Tillman was elected to membership in three honor societies: Alpha Kappa Mu Honor Society, Phi Delta Kappa Honor Fraternity and Omicron Delta Kappa Honor Society He\'s provided leadership as a former member the Boards of Directors of: Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, National Alumni Council of the UNCF, the National Pre-Alumni Council of the UNCF and 100 Black Men of Metro Baton Rouge, Ltd. His past memberships include: American Society for Public Administration, Association for the Study of Higher Education, American Educational Research Association, American Studies Association, Council for Advancement and Support of Education and American Society for Public Administration.
