ABOUT WALTER CALDWELL

Walter Caldwell is a very creative human resources professional. He recently retired from The Aerospace Corporation as Manager of Staffing Resources. As an Independent Consultant with over 30 years of experience, he is still a valuable asset to the corporation. He was responsible for directing all aspects of the corporate staffing function, including recruiting, hiring, transfers, advertising, program administration, relocation, and outplacement programs. He joined Aerospace in 1979 as a Personnel Representative. Prior to Aerospace, he worked for several search firms as a Technical Recruiter. He started his professional career with Edison Brothers Stores as a Retail Operations Manager. Walter has developed recruitment strategies to attract and retain qualified technical staff, ensuring that all individuals are given what he terms, “space for their imagination.” He has been featured in Black Collegian magazine and the Los Angeles Times as an expert on issues relating to staffing, recruitment and diversity. He graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor\'s Degree in Sociology. He was an active member of the Barlow Respiratory Hospital and has been a member of numerous college advisory boards. Walter’s community involvement includes working with the City of Inglewood, Los Angeles Unified School District, and a number of colleges in Southern California. He spends a lot of his time speaking to at risk youth on the importance of education and career development along with providing career counseling to engineering students at California State University, Los Angeles.
