An independent 501c3 non-profit based in Portland, Oregon, SEE Turtles was founded in 2008 as the world\'s first effort to protect these species through ecotourism. For our efforts, we have been awarded the Changemakers Award from the World Travel & Tourism Council and the Skal Sustainable Travel Award.*Our Billion Baby Turtles program provides support for important turtle nesting beaches and has helped save more than 5 million hatchlings at 40+ nesting beaches.*Too Rare To Wear is a campaign working to end the demand for turtleshell products.*Our sea turtle conservation trips provide volunteer and financial support for conservation efforts and are the first and only to have transparent conservation impact pricing for every trip. We have generated more than $1 million for conservation and local communities.*Our school programs help teachers, students, and the general public about these incredible animals and how to protect them.*Our new Sea Turtles & Plastic campaign works to reduce plastic pollution in sea turtle habitats around the world.*SEE Turtles promotes inclusivity in the sea turtle community through diversity scholarships.*We organize the popular #SeaTurtleWeek effort every June 8-16 that includes more than 150 organizations from across the globe.
