About Walker Purvis

I am a 2L at Mercer University School of Law with a strong interest in litigation, specifically commercial and business litigation. This past summer, I clerked for the Clerk & Master of the Hamilton County Chancery Court in Tennessee, and gained hands-on experience with motion hearings, bench trials, and mediation in a wide range of civil cases. I continue to build on that foundation as a law clerk this fall for the Honorable Judge David L. Mincey, in Georgia’s Superior Court for Macon-Bibb, Peach, and Crawford counties. At Mercer, I am a member of the Mercer Advocacy Council’s Moot Court Team and Mercer Law Review, Volume 77. I enjoy thinking strategically about how legal issues develop through the courts and take pride in my ability to communicate clearly, research thoroughly, and approach challenges with tenacity. My goal is to grow into a well-rounded litigator who brings sound judgment, professionalism, and thoughtful advocacy to every stage of the dispute resolution process.

   Conduct legal research on a variety of Chancery Court issues, including real property, contracts, and probate matters-Draft orders, memoranda, and special reports for the Clerk & Master and Chancery Court judges-Observe court proceedings and assess different strategic approaches taken by counsel-Review pleadings and filings for procedural compliance under the Tennessee Rules of Civil Procedure-Gain exposure to the procedural flow of litigation from filing through final judgment in a court of equity.
