ABOUT WALKER MACLEOD

I am a partner in our Bankruptcy & Restructuring Group in Calgary. I act for creditors, debtors, receivers, monitors and trustees in a wide range of insolvency related matters.I have been involved in a number of cross-border restructuring and insolvency cases. I have acted for creditors and debtors in concurrent CCAA and Chapter 11 restructuring proceedings, for Canadian court appointed receivers in concurrent receivership and Chapter 15 liquidation proceedings, and for US court appointed receivers in seeking recognition and enforcement of US issued receivership orders before Canadian courts. I routinely act for court officers, purchasers or investors in solicitation processes conducted pursuant to court order. In addition, I also have experience advising on out of court restructurings involving the re-capitalization of debtors through asset or share transactions or the re-financing of secured debt.I am on the Board of Directors of the Turnaround Management Association (Northwest Chapter), and am a member of the Canadian Bar Association (Bankruptcy, Insolvency and Restructuring Section), and the Canadian Insolvency Foundation and INSOL International. I also serve as the Chief Editor of the Restructuring Roundup, a Firm blog that is focused on Canadian restructuring and insolvency matters.
