About Kate Walker
Kate Walker is a thoughtful Interior Designer with a design philosophy rooted in creating spaces that enhance human health and wellness. As a WELL AP and Fitwel Ambassador, Kate is well versed in solutions for supporting occupant wellness and encouraging healthier behavior. Kate is experienced in higher education, institutional, retail, and office projects. In addition to being a strong advocate for healthy buildings for her projects and clients, Kate is involved with national-scale efforts to make Wellness Design more accessible as a Mindful Materials Content Working Group member.Kate’s passion for health and wellness extends beyond the built environment, leading her to build Bialosky’s Wellness Committee from the ground up. The group’s inaugural event, Wellness Week, introduced the firm’s strengthened commitment to employees’ mental and physical wellness through events and initiatives. The Wellness Committee has organized over 40 events in its two and a half years, including blood drives, CPR training, and a self-defense workshop.Kate is highly engaged with mentoring future generations, serving as a one-on-one mentor for students at Kent State University, Lawrence Technical University, and Laurel School. She regularly serves as a guest juror for Kent State University CAED and has been involved with ACE Mentoring and outreach days with the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. As a student, Kate was hand-picked to serve on the College of Architecture and Environmental Design’s Dean Search Committee and served in the university’s undergraduate student senate as a College Senator. Her senior design project earned an Honorable Mention from the Cleveland/Akron Chapter of the International Interior Design Association.
