Teradata Consultant Boeing May 2023 – Current Date • Teradata consultant managing and maintaining Boeing production backup and restore (BAR) environment and configured to accommodate their complex workloads and processes. • Assisted in migration of Teradata Production Linux system to VMWare platform which included pre and post migration tasks/assessments – system prep and hardening, database and BAR set up. • Participated in migration of data from retired Teradata Production Linux system to new VMWare platform using Teradata Data Transfer Utility (DTU) working with Teradata DTU team. • Upgrade of NetBackup from 8.2 to 9.1 on BAR master and media servers in 2 BAR environments used for Boeing’s backup and replication strategy. • Upgrade of DSA from DSA 17.20 to 17.20.04 BAR master and media servers in the 2 BAR environments. • Systems and database administration. Implementing and maintaining system/database security and applying SOX control activities to ensure all Teradata security controls are in place for audit purposes. • Backup and Restore monitoring & Trouble shooting issues, Library & Media management. Target backup schedule and operational plans. Liaising with Veritas and Dell EMC to resolve any escalated backup/storage problems in timely manner. • Engaging Teradata and Veritas support with any NetBackup issues, and Dell with Data Domain issues. Utilization of ITIL Processes for incident, Problem, and Change management using Service Now to track and resolve problems/issues. • Developing BAR strategies, creating, and maintaining policies, and ensuring the integrity of scheduled client/database backups, replications, and restore processes by aligning them with related policies and appropriate retentions and customer SLAs.
