ABOUT WALAA AHMED

Motivated professional, qualified in product UX-UI Design with a wide-ranging valuable skill set in Agile methodology. Have previous experience in Customer service, Digital Product Design, Journalism & Video Making years, and recently retraining in UX-UI design. I have amassed a wealth of transferable skills and knowledge which could be of benefit to any UX-UI designer as a specialist Zumba fitness & Strong Nation instructor (Zumba for more than 12-years experience, where requires great empathy skills to adapt myself due to ability, age demographic, gender, changing customer needs and consider psychological, social, cultural factors that bring me a great user experience and make the customer satisfied and happy to come back to my class. I have created & designed my (own first project) a marriage app for Arabs in Berlin, Germany \"One in a Melon\" based on market research done to understand the target demographic & psychographic audience through several interviews, and surveys, where I gained from my background in journalism to formulate questions, simplifying complex information, sympathize with problems to find the perfect solution. Also, I have explored and analyzed the market, and the most popular applications in the competitive market and conducted a clear user-friendly wireframe and prototype, through user testing. The conducted research has further enhanced my ability to add value within the sector. In this project, I have applied intensively what I have learned during my all studies, about visual hierarchy, Psychology of layout techniques (Fitt’s law, Miller’s Law, Restorff effect (call to action), Hicks law), typography-psychology, and psychology of color and shapes and considering the entire UX (including user’s visual processing abilities). In addition to the fact, being a mom to two teenagers has taught me not to take life difficulties as complex issues, rather than challenges that require constructive collaborative teamwork, to adapt to changes, gain emotional intelligence, continue learning, and learning to always come up with a suitable creative solution to every situation.
