ABOUT WAJIHA SAMREEN
Experienced Assistant Commissioner with a track record of success in research, management, and administration roles in both the semi-government and public sectors. Currently seeking opportunities in the public and private sectors in the UK to capitalize on my recent MSc in Development Studies from the London School of Economics & Political Science. As an Assistant Commissioner for the Provincial Management Civil Service, I led a team of 300 officers and staff to implement revenue collection policies for the Government of Punjab. Additionally, I collaborated with 10 government departments to facilitate and supervise flood early warnings, rescue, relief, and rehabilitation work at a sub-divisional level. In my previous role as a Section Officer, I facilitated human resource matters for 13 Government and Foreign Funded Development Projects and 03 Public Sector Companies. I also supervised monitoring visits and reported progress for 13 development projects while implementing Corporate Governance Rules in 03 Public Sector Companies of the Punjab Government. I served as Secretary of the Punjab Economic Research Institute, where I supervised a research team of 75 officers and officials to achieve research objectives. I appraised 150 development projects, plans, programs, and policy strategies through cost-benefit analysis and upgraded research plans on a monthly and quarterly basis. Additionally, I coordinated the planning and review of 10 development schemes related to special education, literacy, and non-formal basic education in Punjab while ensuring the timely approval of funds. I also promoted literacy-related initiatives of the Government of Punjab by moderating webinars, development talks, and seminars. I hold an M(Phil) in Economics with CGPA (4.0/4.0) from the University of Management and Technology and a BSc(Hons.) Double Majors in Economics & Finance with CGPA 3.89 from Lahore School of Economics. I completed the 9th PMS Post Induction Training Course on Governance & Management from the Management & Professional Development Department, Government of Punjab. Recipient of the Chevening Scholarship 20••••23, I am seeking a role where I can apply my experience, education, and skills to drive results in the public and private sectors in the UK.
