Shanta Foundation is addressing extreme poverty in Asia and Africa by pioneering a holistic, sustainable and community-led model of village development. By creating/training a Village Development Team and Community Bank(CB), we empower local people to 1.) identify their village needs (water, healthcare, school, entrepreneurial support, infrastructure) 2.) create and lead projects to address those needs, and 3.) utilize interest from the community bank to self-finance the projects. We foster independence and personal agency by equipping local people to solve local problems.
