As a public safety administrator, I am tasked with setting the vision, enforcing established ideals, and creating an environment where the established organizational mission can be accomplished. My core beliefs in Park City and other cities I have served have been based on the ideals of robust community policing. I believe that community policing as described by the International Association Chiefs of Police (IACP) and homeland security as combined nationally is the model of the future. History, current events and my own personal experience are the basis for my philosophy.

ABOUT WADE CARPENTER
As the Chief of Police, I team with the City Manager but also provide leadership to a self-managed work team. I perform a variety of administrative, supervisory, technical and professional duties as Park City\'s chief law enforcement official. I interact with my team to address projects, department and personnel issues, and interact with community organizations and individuals in matters concerning the safety, health and welfare of the community as a whole. I provide overall leadership that brings other public safety agencies together in our combined homeland security efforts. This position helps me expand my philosophy beyond our city limits which I believe is central to contemporary homeland security strategies.
