About Valerie Nguyen
As a Computer Science and Engineering graduate at the University of California, Merced, with a minor in Writing, I have a strong foundation in technical skills and the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively. I have demonstrated this through my diverse range of internships and projects, including serving as a Business Development Intern at Apogee Engineering, where I created and managed a Past Performance library, and as a Content Writing Intern at Dragonfly Editorial, where I utilized creative briefs to produce a variety of written materials. In addition, I have taken on leadership roles, including serving as the Law Clinic Director at UC Merced and leading a workshop on diversity, equity, and inclusion in writing studies for professors across Central California. I am proficient in a variety of programming languages and software, including Java, C/C++, Python, and ArcGIS, and have almost two years of experience with technical writing, editing, and proposal writing. I am excited to continue my growth and development in the field of computer science and engineering, and to use my combined writing and technical skills and knowledge to make a positive impact on the world.
