You’ve got to start with the customer experience and work back toward the technology—not the other way around.” — Steve JobsThat quote shaped how I think about innovation.While pursuing my Master’s in International Business and Engineering at SRH Heidelberg, I co-founded Hausable—an EXIST-backed startup focused on digitizing buildings and bringing their energy systems online to enable smarter, more transparent consumption.Like many first-time founders, we began with strong convictions. And like many, we learned quickly that assumptions don’t scale. We built features before fully understanding the use cases. What changed the game was shifting from tech-first thinking to user-first learning: speaking to housing cooperatives, mapping their pain points, and iterating fast based on real feedback.Even after my exit, the company continued on—and today it’s gaining traction with new customers.Now, as a Consultant at Wavestone, I help companies in energy turn strategy into impact.Across all my work, I focus on one question: What real-world problem are we solving—and how do we make sure it works for the people who matter most?I believe that’s where technology becomes meaningful. Not just when it works—but when it helps.
