   The responsibility assigned to me was to build the Godrej archives & work towards making it an institute of learning in the field of archives. This includes: 1. To prepare strategic plans for the Godrej Archives and to guide overall planning and budgeting for sub-functions within archives such as collection management, repository management, care and conservation, digitisation, and communication. Organising resources for archives in terms of manpower, material and infrastructure for repository, digitisation as well as conservation set up etc. To prepare and update periodically the archive policy manual periodically and to ensure its effective implementation and sustenance. To collect, select, manage and preserve records in all types of media pertaining to the history of Godrej and help to make them accessible and available to a wide range of internal and external users around the globe. To ensure collecting and recording the relevant data on Godrej and to devise ways for collection development. To negotiate the buying or donation of archive material and assessing their importance. To create oral history resources. This process includes selecting people for interviews, researching and planning pre-interview, conducting interviews, transcribing, and indexing interviews, preparing brief summaries, and uploading the information on Digital Asset Management Software at the archives 8. To devise different ways to create awareness about Archives within the organisation as well as among public through outreach programmes - talks, presentations, workshops, conceptualising and executing displays & exhibitions. To prepare a social media strategy and create content for websites on both Intranet and Internet.10. To collaborate with national as well as international bodies in the field of business history and business archives. To design a course in Archives Management and conduct this course in collaboration with colleges/ universities
