About Vrinda Vinayak

Hi, I\'m Vrinda! I\'m currently a Harvard PSVF Kaufman Fellow with the International Service for Human Rights in New York. I began my career at the London office of global law firm Herbert Smith Freehills, where I regularly worked on domestic and international pro bono matters. I graduated at the top of my class at National Law University, Delhi in 2019 and completed my Master of Laws from Harvard Law School in 2025.

The International Service for Human Rights (ISHR) is an independent, non-governmental organisation dedicated to promoting and protecting human rights. We achieve this by supporting human rights defenders, strengthening human rights systems, and leading and participating in coalitions for human rights change. We work to support human rights defenders at the international and regional levels because we understand that their work is essential to protect human rights and the rule of law on the ground. Over the last 40 years, ISHR has developed a comprehensive toolbox of tactics to achieve human rights change. We conduct research and analysis and undertake policy development and lobbying. We provide training, capacity building, strategic advice, technical assistance and networking support to human rights defenders and NGOs. We conduct strategic advocacy and litigation at the international and regional levels. We engage in media advocacy and commentary.
