About Vicky Pridgen
I’m a civic designer passionate about creating meaningful change at the intersection of community and local government. My work focuses on building trust, transparency, and collaboration to address public challenges through innovative, people-centered solutions. Currently, I serve as a Civic Designer with the City of Austin\'s Office of Innovation, where I partner with residents and stakeholders to design impactful programs and services that meet real needs. I’m deeply committed to co-creation, ensuring diverse voices shape the decisions that affect them. Beyond my work in local government, I serve on the board of the Austin Center for Design and volunteer with U.S. Digital Response, where I’ve contributed as a user researcher and project scoper. I’m also an advocate for animal welfare, mentoring volunteers at Austin Animal Center and fostering long-stay dogs in search of their forever homes. At the core of everything I do is a belief that small, well-designed changes can spark big transformations – whether it’s improving resident experiences, supporting shelter pets, or testing how AI can create efficiencies in public service. I thrive in roles that require creativity, empathy, and systems thinking, and I’m always looking for opportunities to collaborate with others who share a vision for a more inclusive and innovative future.
