As a Research Fellow with the Center for the Study of HBCUs at Virginia Union University, I support national research initiatives focused on strengthening the capacity, sustainability, and long term impact of Historically Black Colleges and Universities. My work centers on generating data-informed insights that guide institutional strategy, philanthropic investment, and policy conversations across the HBCU ecosystem.In this role, I collaborate with university presidents, senior leaders, scholars, and policy stakeholders to design and advance research examining institutional effectiveness, funding strategies, and student success outcomes at HBCUs. I contribute to the development of research briefs, analytical reports, and “Black Papers” that translate complex data and emerging trends into actionable insights for higher education leaders and national partners.I also support the planning and execution of national convenings and strategic research initiatives, including the BLAC Summit, which brings together HBCU presidents, scholars, philanthropic organizations, and policy leaders to explore innovative approaches that strengthen institutional impact and sustainability. This work bridges research and practice by helping identify strategic opportunities for federal and foundation investment that advance the future of HBCUs.Areas of focus include HBCU ecosystem research, institutional capacity building, strategic funding development, and applied research that informs executive decision-making across higher education.
