About Volker Sick

Strong education professional with a Habilitation focused in Physical Chemistry from Heidelberg University.My research focuses on accelerating deployments of CO2-utilization technologies that will innovate existing infrastructure and manufacturing processes, thereby finding sustainable decarbonization solutions to help address the climate crisis.In addition, we are developing and applying optical measurement techniques for studies of mass and energy transfer as well as diseases of the human eye.My teaching focuses on experiential undergraduate education through a lab course, the International Engineering Summer School at TU Berlin, and Techlab Climate Change.My service work ranges from roles at UM, editorial roles for Frontiers in Climate -Negative Emissions Technologies, Progress in Energy and Combustion Science, International Journal of Engine Research, to committees at the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the Combustion Institute, and several advisory board roles.See volker-sick.engin.umich.edu for details.
