ABOUT VOJTECH KRAL

An entrepreneurial soul currently in Enterprise Data Platforms Architecture team focusing on delivering against our ambitious timelines. To do that successfully I am heavily taking advantage from my previous doings where I was accelerating AWS adoption across Barclays, co-building a data platform, leading build of distributed system, coding, needed to get senior MDs buy in, produced documentation to pass tech/security reviews, or presented to D/MDs, Barclays CIO or at AWS re:Invent 2019.Previously, I introduced, prototyped, built and delivered recommender engine for Research department in Barclays and then I started focusing on AWS adoption for several Research IT systems including Data Science Platform which has been a key initiative for the Research business and one of the pioneers of AWS adoption in Barclays.I started my journey mainly on the back-end Java side with JEE and related technologies (Java 8, Spring 4, Hibernate, REST) with smaller portion on UI side (JavaScript, AngularJS). Tried TDD and Clojure to expand my coding mindset. Then stepped into ML space particularly recommender systems and delivered one for Research. And then stepped into AWS space to learn the cloud and co-implemented key AWS pattern for Research and co-presented at AWS re:Invent 2019.
