About Victor Peralta santa Anna

Over the course of my career, my work as a software engineer has focused on solving a range of challenging and meaningful problems. At Amazon, I spent several years working on Prime membership, where I contributed to core Prime membership services and features that support retention and membership management. In later years, my focus shifted toward risk mitigation, fraud detection, and abuse prevention to protect Prime membership integrity.I later applied this experience to sustainability technology, helping develop systems for low carbon shipping and tools that enabled customers and sellers to make more environmentally informed choices. My team also worked on systems that improved visibility into carbon forecasting and abatement. These supported key decision making for Amazon business units driving environmental goals.Today, I focus on evolving technology that enables Amazon’s sanctions compliance at scale. This includes work on internal systems used by investigators and customers to manage compliance cases, as well as the use of agentic AI workflows to help evaluate those cases.Across these roles, my work has been shaped by continuous learning, growing ownership, and a focus on building systems that operate reliably in complex environments.

   I work in the DPS organization at Amazon, which builds and operates services that enable sanctions compliance at scale. Spectre is my team, and our scope focuses on compliance workflows after an alert is triggered. Within that space, we own services that process alerts, execute machine learning workflows, match and cache entities at scale, and support compliance case handling for operations teams, including investigators, quality assurance, and advisory groups.My work includes:• Supporting backend services that handle high volume alert processing• Enhancing entity screening through the introduction of email based matching• Coauthoring and building agentic AI workflows from the ground up to assist investigators by generating recommendations and insights for compliance case evaluation
