ABOUT VERONICA MENDEZ-LIAINA

Experience in academic advising and recruitment at a community college, university/Higher Educational level, course scheduling, record/database maintenance, degree audit, transfer course articulation, career counseling, and interpretation of university policies and procedures. Consultant, developer, and facilitator for professional development trainings/session focusing on counseling & advising practices, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, First-Generation, multicultural Greek organizations, and student services targeting first year and transfer students, NCAA student athletes, parents, and colleagues and act as a representative for university/college departments. Knowledgeable on event planning, student/staff/faculty mentor programs, and working with diverse communities and multicultural student organizations. In additional to all my academic/student service work, I have experience in the retail and hospitality field. Experience in management at an administrative level for both big and small business ventures concerning personnel and budgetary issues.Specialties: Academic advising/counseling practices, implicit bias training, diversity, equity, inclusion practices, student retention & recruitment, representation of a business or company, management, research, facilitator, presenter, motivational speaker, mentor.
