As a director of engineering I\'m leading end-to-end product development for biotech, medtech and all tech programs, with a focus on cutting-edge instrumentation and integrated systems. Hands-on system thinker who leads multi-disciplinary teams across mechanical, electrical, firmware, optics and systems engineering. I manage and lead a team of 20 engineers from junior to principal levels while building and growing the team through hiring and mentoring. Regularly work on many different systems simultaneously, balancing priorities across complex projects with very fast pace design iterations.I focus on removing risk early, figuring out what is truly needed, and designing prototypes and taking them through manufacturing. I’ve seen both the failures and successes of complex product development which shapes my approach to taking complex customer, clinical, and business requirements into practical designs.I lead across the full business lifecycle, from early customer engagement and business development through delivery and long-term relationship growth. I advise and plan with early-stage founders, from seed funding and grant support to VC investment, on engineering strategy, architecture direction/assessment, and development costs.
